This will be the 8th railway modelling exhibition at the Railway Museum in Riga, the capital city of Latvia. Every year the exhibition is visited by approximately 3,000 guests. The name Liliputija translates as “little world” and the exhibition - set up by Railway Museum and our collaborators - show different types of miniature railway models of various scales. They include historical models from the collections of the museum and other private collectors, as well as the latest models or those created specifically for.
We invite the railway modelists to exhibit their models and collections of rolling stock, apply for experts’ demonstrations during the exhibition, to familiarise visitors with the latest work, share experience, meet friends, and get to know colleagues from other countries.
In October 2019, during the exhibition, we will present the renovated model of the Railway Museum in the scale of 1:87, which will be ~ 45 m2 large and include three stations, as well as the historical buildings of Latvia constructed by A. Straume and the railway landscape and scenes showing daily life in the 1970s to 1990s created by I. Auzenbaha and J.Čekan. Authors of the model are J. Čekans and S. Tretjakovs.
As part of the program, the Railway Museum will organise creative workshops for children, discussions with modelists, as well as video stories on social networks.
The Museum will provide the participants of the exhibition:
